Welcome to my site. I hope you have a good time.
My Hallmark wooden pen/pencil set wasn't working after 30 years and the lifetime guarantee had expired. I was having difficulty finding a wood pen. So I got a lathe in 2007 and made one, then another, and another. My oldest son told me my granddaughter was using a stick as a wand and it broke so could I make her a wand. After all, I'd made him a Christmas ornament. Then the cork for the wine we were drinking got lost - OK so we don't drink the whole bottle when we open it. That necessitated making a bottle stopper. My key ring broke so.... Then I needed a new handle for a tool.
The fun never ends.
Before I started woodturning I was lazy and out of control of my life. Not a pretty sight.
After beginning woodturning there was a remarkable change. My wife thinks she "finally taught me" but it was really the turning that did it.
It has been a wonderful and fulfilling adventure especially since joining the
Kansas City Woodturners
