Welcome to my site. Hope you have a good time.
My Hallmark wooden pen/pencil set wasn't working after 30 years and the lifetime guarantee had expired. I was having difficulty finding a wood pen. So I got a lathe in 2007 and made one, then another, and another. My oldest son told me my granddaughter was using a stick as a wand and it broke so could I make her a wand. After all, I'd made him a Christmas ornament. Hence the wands. Then the cork for the wine we were drinking got lost - OK so we don't drink the whole bottle when we open it. That necessitated making a bottle stopper. My key ring broke so.... Then I needed a new handle for a tool.
The fun seems to be neverending. At least it seems that way so far.
If you see something you like and want or have an idea for something you want, send an email to me, Shaun Q. McMahon, and I will get back to you.
Before I started woodturning I was lazy and out of control of my life. Not a pretty sight.
After beginning woodturning there was a remarkable change. My wife thinks she "finally taught me" but it was really the turning that did it.
A wonderful and fulfilling hobby especially since joining the Kansas City Woodturners.
